Class cancelled March 20th

Everyone ... class is cancelled on March 20th due to the loss in my family.  I will be sending out some materials instead this week.  We will resume lectures on March 27th.

Sharing our sad news with you

As many of you know my wife Patricia and I were expecting our second baby on Monday, March 14thand what was to be one of the happiest days of our lives turned out to be the most tragic.

On early Sunday morning we went to the hospital worried that our baby wasn’t moving as much as normal and an ultrasound confirmed the unimaginable -- our little baby’s heart was no longer beating.  At 2:32am on March 14th, our expected due date, our beautiful baby girl, Noomi (pron. Noh-mi) Elise Dodge, came into our world.  She was perfect and gorgeous weighing 3.5 kg  (7.11 lbs) and measuring 54 cm. The doctor was able to confirm that the cause of the still birth was a rare occurrence of a knot in the umbilical cord that most likely happened the day before Noomi was to be born.  We are devastated and crushed beyond belief and we truly appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

Although Noomi’s time with us was all too short she will forever be in our hearts. Our four year old daughter Néa is an incredible source of strength for us and she is being so brave with everything that has happened.
